Cost-optimal level-modelling

Insights into the current and future building standard in Germany

Published: 09/01/2014

The aim of the research project "Cost optimal level - modelling" was to determine cost optimal levels of new and existing buildings and to compare them with the current minimum building standard in Germany (EnEV and EEWärmeG). This included a consideration of the macro- and micro-economic perspective and a sensitivity analysis to determine the influence of significant parameters.

The research project, financed by the Federal Institute for Research on Building, Urban Affairs and Spatial Development (BBSR), provides a very deep insight into the current and future requirements of the building standard in Germany and the influence of different parameters and calculation methods. The economic review of national implementation of the EPBD, demanded by the EU, will lay the foundations for the future development of the requirement levels.
