Methodology by Ecofys, a Navigant company, enables ROCKWOOL to calculate avoided emissions from their products

Ecofys, a Navigant company, developed a new methodology together with ROCKWOOL, which allowed the stone wool manufacturer to identify the positive climate impact of their insulation products. In developing the avoided emissions methodology, the experts took into account geographical differences in sales, local insulation values, climatic differences and distribution temperatures.

The ROCKWOOL Group is a global leader in stone wool solutions. Their building and technical insulation products help to save energy in the built environment and industrial applications.

While ROCKWOOL is committed to reduce the carbon footprint of their own factories, the results from the Ecofys methodology show that the most significant positive impact lies in the energy and emission reduction enabled by the use of their products.
