On behalf of the Federal Ministry for Economic Affairs and Energy (BMWi), Ecofys, a Navigant company, is organizing a study tour of a delegation from the United Arab Emirates (UAE) to Germany from 22-27 April 2018. As part of the Emirati-German Energy Partnership, the study tour aims to intensify the bilateral dialogue on the integration of renewable energy into electricity markets and grids. One of the tour’s main events will be an expert workshop on “Market and grid integration of renewable energy“ in Berlin on 24 April 2018. The workshop is open to an expert audience.

The UAE’s Energy Plan 2050 has set the goal to increase the generating capacity of renewable energy to 44 percent by 2050. In the context of “Project Synergy”, the UAE are currently working on options for the transformation of the national electricity market and grid.

The study tour is a joint activity of the BMWi and the UAE Ministry for Energy and Industry. Ecofys is supporting the dialogue between both countries in the context of the energy partnership with content expertise and the operational execution of event formats addressing the topics renewable energy, energy efficiency, electricity market reform, electromobility and sustainable transport.
