Consultant - Energy Policies

Ecofys – A Navigant Company is currently recruiting a consultant for the Energy Policies team in our Berlin office. As part of a dynamic team, you will work on projects for public and private sector clients in various areas of national, European and international energy and climate policy.


Our areas of work range from

  • Developing and implementing instruments for the promotion of renewables and the transformation of the power sector to
  • Assessing and improving energy efficiency policies to
  • Facilitating stakeholder dialogue through various formats.


We aim for excellence in all parts of project execution and rely on skills in energy policy analysis, project management, capacity building, international knowledge transfer and a structured approach to presenting ideas in line with client needs.


As a consultant for our team, you will be responsible for implementing and progressively managing projects to help our clients develop, assess and implement policies and strategies to navigate the energy transition.


Your profile

If you are enthusiastic about the job described above and you meet the following criteria, then we would be happy to meet you!


  • You have a Master’s degree with strong academic results in a relevant field such as economics, energy and sustainability;
  • You have 1-2 years of professional experience (incl. internships) in the field of energy economics and/or energy policies;
  • You have a strong interest and proven work experience in national, European and international energy and climate policy and an excellent understanding of policy processes and institutions in Germany and abroad;
  • You have strong analytical, communication and organizational as well as project management skills;
  • You show a high degree of flexibility and are willing to travel occasionally for work;
  • You must possess near-native German skills and are fluent in English in both speaking and writing; knowledge of other languages is an asset;
  • You share our passion for sustainable energy.

The team


The Smart Policies team within Navigant is a leading expert on policymaking in sustainable energy. We advise government and corporate clients on how to shift towards a carbon-neutral energy system. Specifically, we provide guidance on how to design, develop and optimise policy instruments. Once these policies are in operation, we analyse and evaluate their impacts, and recommend further improvements. With projects in more than 50 countries, we provide knowledge to clients all over the world.
