(Associate) Director - Power Systems

Our projects address technical, regulatory and economic aspects of the energy transition, making power systems more sustainable. The department “Energy Systems and Markets” analyses challenges associated with the integration of renewable energy into power systems and power markets. Aspects we are working on include the design of innovative concepts of system operation, the integration of renewable energies into redispatch as well as the assessment of technical requirements and ancillary services we will need in the future power system.

As a (Associate) Director, you will provide expert consultancy services to government bodies, network operators, utilities, and NGOs. Your main tasks will be the acquisition and leading of projects. This will include for example leading multi-disciplinary and international teams on high profile projects that analyze the impact of renewable energies onto the system and to recommend on well-fitted sustainable energy policy concepts.

You will be responsible for overall project and quality management as well as leading the acquisition process and client interactions. Based on your experience and deep knowledge, you continuously develop - together with the team - thought leadership in the expertise area.

Your profile
If you are enthusiastic about the job described above and you meet the following criteria, we will be happy to meet you!

  • University education in electrical engineering (diploma or master) or equivalent. Ph.D. in the relevant field would be an advantage;
  • At least 10 years professional experience in power system analysis, preferably in the area of grid integration of distributed generation; consulting experience in the relevant field would be an advantage
  • Consulting experience in a relevant field is required
  • Excellent analytical, communication and presentation skills;
  • High degree of personal initiative and enjoy networking with others;
  • Experience in winning and management of projects;
  • Excellent oral and written language skills in German and English;
  • Fluency in German alongside advanced level English language skills are required for this role
