Corinna Klessmann

Corinna Klessmann (PhD) is a Director at Ecofys, a Navigant Company. She is an internationally recognized expert on renewable energy policy and is leading the Ecofys solution offering “Low Carbon Policy and Implementation”. She has more than 15 years experience with energy policy consultancy and applied research for governments and corporates. Her work focuses on the 2030 European energy policy framework, the design and evaluation of support measures for renewable energy and energy efficiency investments, e.g. auctions, and the facilitation of policy cooperation processes among governments. She has worked for numerous clients, including the European Commission, the German, French and Danish government, the International Renewable Energy Agency (IRENA), and many international corporates, associations and NGOs.

After completing her energy engineering (MEng) and philology (MA) studies, she worked as project assistant for a rural electrification project in South Africa and as research associate for decentralised energy applications at the Technical University of Berlin. Before she joined Ecofys in 2006, she worked for three years at the German Energy Agency (dena) where she coordinated the dialogue with the German solar industry, supervised international market studies on renewable energies, and participated in international conferences and workshops in more than 20 countries. Next to her work at Ecofys she obtained a doctorate from Utrecht University on European renewable energy policy.
