Polish
Energy Bus goes on tour
Yesterday the Polish Energy Bus, “Autobus
Energetyczny”, started a tour through Poland. The launching
ceremony of this two-year tour was held at the Palace of Science
and Culture in Warsaw. The Energy Bus is a mobile exhibition and
information centre dedicated to the promotion of know-how and advice
on saving energy and the use of renewable energy sources throughout
Poland. Ecofys is one of the initiators of this project.
Energy
Bus
The bus that functioned as a city bus until June of this year was
for three months rebuilt into a mobile exposition and information
centre. In the bus users, companies and local authorities are informed
and advised on several themes in the area of energy. The user can
see how energy can be saved in their household and there is information
on energy management systems for companies. Furthermore the visitor
can see how a local authority can develop their energy plan, with
a focus on energy savings and the use of more sustainable energy
sources over the next 20 years.
Loaded with information
and models of innovative energy technologies, the bus will be driven
through Poland by two energy-experts from the organisations of KAPE
and KESCO. In the Netherlands and in Germany, the use of energy
busses has been quite successful. This idea has been exported to
Poland, facilitating closer cooperation between east and west.
Cooperation
Eastern and Western Europe
The “Autobus Energetyczny” is an initiative of five
renowned parties in the field of energy and climate from the Netherlands,
Poland and Germany. These parties are Ecofys (the Netherlands, Poland),
B.&S.U. (Germany), TÜV (Germany), KAPE (Poland) en KESCO
Energy (Poland, Germany). Contributing half the costs, the European
Commission is the largest promoter of the Polish Energy Bus.
