Ecofys extends co-operation with Chinese partner CREIA

A Memorandum of Understanding was signed by Ecofys and CREIA (Chinese Renewable Energy Industries Association). In this Memorandum both parties lay down their intentions to continue and extend their co-operation in the field of consultancy for renewable energy, energy efficiency and climate change issues.

Co-operation

Over the last three years the Chinese Renewable Energy Industries Association (CREIA) and Ecofys have been working together on several occasions. During these years they have jointly carried out policy studies and capacity building activities regarding the application and integration of renewable energy systems - such as solar heaters and PV panels.

Partnership

CREIA and Ecofys have agreed to work together in China on the basis of a preferred partnership concerning projects in the priority fields of climate change protection - including the use of Kyoto Mechanisms -, renewable energy development and energy efficiency.

The strengths of both companies are currently combined in the first Clean Development Mechanism (CDM) project in China, which has been offered to the Dutch government under the CERUPT programme. If the contract is granted China will sell Certified Emission Reductions (CERs) generated from the CDM project to the Dutch government, enabling the two countries to reach their emission objectives at relatively low total costs.

CREIA

CREIA (www.creia.net) promotes the adoption of advanced technologies among renewable energy enterprises in China and actively develops capacity for the rapid industrialisation of the Chinese renewable energy sector.

Ecofys

Ecofys (www.ecofys.com) is a leading company in the field of renewable energy and energy efficiency. More than 150 employees in six countries deliver integrated sustainable energy solutions. Ecofys is part of the Econcern group (www.e-concern.com), with the mission "a sustainable energy supply for everyone".
