The international Energy and Climate Strategy group of Ecofys provides analysis and strategic advice in the areas of energy and climate technologies, policies and markets. The group has a multidisciplinary staff of 100 people operating in small project teams for multiple clients including local, regional and (inter)national governments, the European Commission, multilateral organisations (UNFCCC, IEA) as well as corporate clients and NGOs.

Ecofys started its Italian operations in Turin in 2005 and in April 2007 a new office in Rome was opened as the main base for the Energy and Climate Strategy group in Italy.

Junior Consultant Energy and Climate Strategies

The position

We are looking for a junior consultant who will contribute to the expansion of Ecofys’ activities in the field of energy and climate policies and markets.
As junior consultant your responsibility will be to perform high-quality analysis within individual projects and to contribute to the acquisition of new work.
Project topics may include (among others):

  • evaluation and design of (renewable) energy and climate policies (including the EU Emissions Trading Scheme and JI/CDM),
  • assessment of energy conservation and emission reduction potentials and cost,
  • analysis of market opportunities for renewable energy, energy conservation and emission reduction technologies and projects and/or future climate commitments,
  • assessment, articulation and monitoring of corporate voluntary commitments.

You will closely collaborate with the Energy and Climate Strategy colleagues in Italy as well as in the other Ecofys offices and will be involved in both national and international projects.
Initially you will be responsible for individual task within projects, over time you will be increasingly responsible for the management of individual projects.

Your profile

You have a strong technical background with a good understanding and appreciation of energy and climate change policy.
You combine strong analytical and communications/reporting skills.
You can work in a high pace environment, on multiple projects, keeping within deadlines and budgets.
You are a team player with an excellent oral and written command of English.
You have a university degree in energy and/or environmental technology, economics or policy (or equivalent).
You are familiar with spreadsheets/ power points/word editing (Italian/English)
Previous work experience is a plus.
