Green electricity prices could be reduced by up to 30% if policy improved - IEA-RETD report finds
An International Energy Agency (IEA) report concludes that the cost of financing renewable eclectricity projects could be reduced by up to 30% with clearer and more efficient government policy design. In the context of the current financial crisis, the implementing agreement on Renewable Energy Technology Deployment of the IEA (IEA-RETD) tasked Ecofys with assessing how support schemes could be designed in order to reduce the cost of financing renewable electricity generation projects. Ecofys supports Drax Biomass Sustainability Strategy
Ecofys has been leading in the field of biomass sustainability, having helped the UK government establish the sustainability criteria for the Renewable Transport Fuel Obligation as well as a practical scheme for companies to report on these criteria - the scheme is currently the only operational scheme in the EU. Global Status Report on Energy Efficiency 2008
lDuring COP 14, REEEP (the Renewable Energy and Energy Efficiency Partnership) presented the Global Status Report on Energy Efficiency 2008. This report is written to create awareness amongst policy makers on the potentials for energy efficiency improvements. Ecofys evaluated the recent progress in the field of energy efficiency as well as the potential for further energy efficiency improvements in the coming years.
