The Internationally operating cluster Energy Strategy of Ecofys is working on analysis and strategic advice in four main areas: technology and innovation; energy and climate policy evaluation and design; energy market developments and climate change. The cluster has currently a multidisciplinary staff of around 80 people working in small project teams for multiple and various clients that range from national and international governments, the European Commission, corporate clients and non-governmental organisations.
The cluster Energy Strategy has vacancies in the office in Barcelona for a:
Director/Senior Consultant: Energy and Climate Strategy The position The cluster is looking for a consultant that will be responsible for management and operation of projects in the area of energy strategy, with some focus on climate change issues (e.g. emission trading) and renewable energy. This includes European projects on the development of new policies and the integration of new energy technologies, as well as advice to energy companies and industry on market strategies and the impact of important market aspects such as climate policies or efficiency policies on their market position. As senior consultant you are also responsible for acquisition of projects in these areas.
Your profile Our ideal candidate combines interests and experience in European energy policies with strong research skills. You preferably have a university degree in natural science, technology or environmental sciences as well as research experience (minimally 5 years) in energy or environment consulting. You have a commercial and customer-oriented attitude and are able to convert market opportunities into tangible projects. Often we assess for our clients the practical impacts of new policies and assist them in developing new market opportunities. Essential is the link between strategic and conceptual thinking and a pragmatic approach. You are a team player with a good oral (preferable Spanish native) and written command of the local language (Spanish/Catalan) and English. Finally you are strongly interested in sustainable energy.
