Financing Renewable Energy in European markets
Ecofys, leading a consortium of TU Vienna, Fraunhofer ISI and Ernst & Young, analyzed the financing situation for renewable energy projects within the European markets in 2010. The study provides an up to date and thorough assessment of the costs of renewable energy and the support and financing instruments available for renewable energy R&D, demonstration projects and large scale deployment. It gives details of each Member State's expenditures and use of community funds. Within this study alternatives to enabling easy access to capital are identified, possible involvement of governments is analyzed and suggestions for improvement of the sector’s access to capital are made.
