Carsten Petersdorff (1970) graduated from the RWTH Aachen in Physics in 1997. He is an expert in the field of renewable energy and energy efficiency, especially in the built environment. After his graduation he worked at the University of Aachen before joining Ecofys in 1998. Initially Carsten Petersdorff was responsible for activities in the built environment in Germany, before becoming Managing Director of Ecofys Germany GmbH in 2005. After he held several management positions within Ecofys such as Division Director responsible for business in the field of renewable energy generation and distribution on an international level, he is now Regional Director for the German speaking countries (DACH region). Due to his involvement in projects throughout Europe, Maghreb, Mashreq and the Middle East, Carsten Petersdorff is an expert in energy solutions in different climates and cultures. In his spare time he enjoys playing badminton and is a passionate cook.
