Noémie Klein is an Associate Director at Ecofys. She has been working for over ten years with governments, international finance institutions and businesses around the world to engage them in climate change mitigation efforts. Noémie is responsible for Ecofys’ expertise on climate finance and carbon pricing. She is an author of leading carbon pricing publications such as the World Bank’s State and Trends of Carbon Pricing reports, technical papers for the Partnership for Market Readiness, and research pieces under the Carbon Pricing Unlocked (CPU) partnership with Generation Foundation. Noémie is involved in the design and implementation of innovative climate finance instruments, including the Pilot Auction Facility and sectoral result-based mechanisms (e.g. cement in Tunisia and cogeneration in Mexico). She supports governments in mainstreaming climate action in their policies through the development and financing of NAMAs and INDCs. Prior to joining Ecofys, Noémie worked in Hong Kong as a consultant, where she assessed climate risks faced by corporates. Previously, she was based in the UK and worked for EcoSecurities where she led the technical review team and developed CDM projects. Noémie is a Board Member of the Climate Markets & Investment Association. She holds an MSc in Environmental Technology from Imperial College and an MRes in Environmental Sciences from University Paris 7.
