Sarah Hendel-Blackford (MA) is a Managing Consultant at Ecofys UK. She has a strong policy background with experience in the development of energy and climate change policy (international, national, regional and local level) and adaptation tools for practical implementation across a variety of sectors, as well as sustainable energy policy. Sarah has managed international projects, including assessing methodologies for climate compatible development (CCD) for policy makers in the developing world, energy efficient policies, funding programmes, technologies and practical implementation between Japan and the EU member states. Sarah has also led a project on designing the Carbon Reduction Commitment (CRC) for Defra, analysing the policy design and implementation issues before the scheme is launched. Sarah has also worked on stakeholder consultation, including for the European Commission on the adaptation Green Paper and the subsequent Impact Assessment for the Adaptation White Paper. Prior to joining Ecofys, Sarah worked for the European Commission as part of the Nuclear Fusion Unit, the European Parliament on Climate Change legislation including the Emissions Trading Directive, amongst others.
