The Energy and Climate Strategy group of Ecofys Germany provides analysis and strategic advice in the areas of energy and climate technologies, policies and markets.

Senior Consultant - International Climate Policy (m/f)

The position
The group is looking for a senior consultant who will be responsible for expanding further the department’s activities for Government and other public bodies in the field of international climate policy, in particular the negotiations of a future international climate agreement post 2012 and the development of the rules for “Joint implementation” and the “Clean Development Mechanism”. As senior consultant, you will have responsibility for winning part of the team’s work in the above-mentioned areas. Moreover you will be responsible for management and operation of projects in these areas and supervision of junior staff. You will closely collaborate with the group manager and other colleagues in the group, as well as with Energy and Climate Strategy colleagues within the other Ecofys offices.

Your profile
Our ideal candidate
- has a university degree in energy and/or environmental technology, economics or policy (or equivalent) and more than five years experience in the energy or climate policy area.
- has a commercial and customer-oriented attitude and is able to convert market opportunities into tangible projects.
- has excellent writing and communication skills in German and English

For our clients you can identify and evaluate the practical requirements and impacts of new policy frameworks or policy instruments on society, the economy and the environment and be able to assist them in the development of new approaches. Essential in this is the ability to link strategic and conceptual thinking to a pragmatic approach and the ability to translate practical and/or technological information into aggregated policy recommendations and vice versa. You are an experienced project manager and have excellent time management skills.
