(Senior) Consultant

Bioenergy- Sustainability Expert

Location: Utrecht(NL), Cologne (DE), Berlin (DE), London(UK), Barcelona (ES), Rome (IT)

The position:

• Key activities include consultancy in the field of sustainability of bioenergy carriers to governments, industry and NGO’s and assignments related to concrete projects such resource assessments, conceptual development, technology selection, feasibility studies etc.
• Focus areas in the field of bioenergy are biomass supply chain sustainability with a particular focus on upstream activities such as activities related to the cultivation and production of biomass agriculture and forestry.
• Using your knowledge and existing contact network in your national and the international market to generate sales leads and write proposals to secure new consulting contracts.
• Supporting non-bioenergy colleagues on policy, strategy and technical work related to biomass and sustainability.

Your profile:
Essential Knowledge/experience:

• A minimum of 5 years professional experience in bioenergy related work.
• Experience in sustainability topics related to energy generation, agriculture or forestry.
• A well established contact network in the country where you are based

Desirable knowledge/experience:

• Experience related to biofuels production and sustainability aspects of the complete value chain of biomass-to-energy projects.
• A professional background in the energy or waste sector, oil or gas industry, agro-industry, forestry, agriculture, wood processing or paper industry are of advantage.
• Good knowledge of the various companies and other organisations involved in the automotive fuels and energy industry.

Qualifications:

• Bachelors degree in business, science, engineering, or equivalent subject.
• Masters degree, MBA, PhD would be beneficial.

Skills:

• Identify opportunities and follow up pro-actively including writing of proposal/quotations.
• Excellent communication and presentation skills.
• Excellent oral and written command of English.
• Strong commercial attitude and entrepreneurial skills in identifying and seizing opportunities in a competitive market place.
• Excellent analytical skills yet with a pragmatic, result oriented attitude.
• Good report writing skills, fluent in english.
• Excellent interpersonal skills.
• Fluency/Proficiency in another language would be beneficial.
