MANAGER BIOENERGY France

Locations: Paris or Soisson in France

The position

As Manager you manage the French BIO (bioenergy) team in all aspects and in sync with the Ecofys strategy and policy.

The Manager Bioenergy will be responsible for the development of business and services in the field of bioenergy for Ecofys in France. Activities range from the acquisition of new projects, directing bioenergy projects and assure their quality, pro-active networking to developing new service offerings and expanding into new markets.

You are responsible for academic professionals within the team. Development and coaching of the team members is an important part of the position. You draw up the business plan together with the other Manager and the Cluster Director and realize development of product market combinations. You report on a regularly basis on business development and financial performance to the Cluster Director and come up with practical solutions and actions. Within the team, you play a key role in setting priorities, linking projects, motivating the people in the team and organizing the workload and quality assurance.

Departments of bioenergy within Ecofys offices are dealing with execution of studies and realization of installations in the field of bioenergy. We pay attention to the whole biomass chain: biomass supply logistics, conversion (for instance digestion, combustion, gasification) and sale of end products (electricity, heat, biofuels).

Your profile

Essential Knowledge/experience:

• At least 7 years of professional experience in bioenergy related work (a professional background in energy or waste sector, oil or gas industry, agro-industry, forestry, agriculture, wood processing or paper industry will be an advantage)
• Experience in linking the management process with people and projects which are primarily content-driven
• A well established contact network in your national bioenergy market
• Good knowledge of the various companies and other organisations involved in the energy industry.
• Strong commercial attitude and entrepreneurial skills in identifying and seizing opportunities in a competitive market place
• University degree in sciences, technical sciences, engineering or equivalent subject

Desirable knowledge/experience:

• A professional background in an energy or waste sector, oil or gas industry, agro-industry, forestry, agriculture, wood processing or paper industry will be an advantage.
