The project developer is a cooperative formed by around 400 farmers who are strongly committed to improving the environment and living conditions in the surrounding communities. Due to the considerable social benefits, the project was developed using the CDM Gold Standard methodology and therefore achieved an extraordinary price for the generated credits.

The installed capacity - 1MW - is expected to generate around 5 GWh per year, resulting in an emission reduction of approxiamtely 23,000 tonnes of CO2e.

Ecofys took care of complete CDM projet cycle and arranged the Emission Reduction Purchase Agreement (ERPA). The project has been registered at the UNFCCC and started operating in August 2006.
