Offshore wind energy is profitable
Recently, the Netherlands Bureau for Economic Policy Analysis (CPB) published a cost-benefit analysis of wind energy on the North Sea. The conclusion: offshore wind energy is not attractive in almost all cases. Ecofys carried out some extrapolations of the study using realistic assumptions for oil prices, CO2 prices and learning curves, and found unambiguously a positive value of wind energy.
