CarMon for authorities -
Monitoring and reporting tool for climate policy

Many local authorities in Europe are actively implementing climate policy. Fundamental in this matter is formulating a local climate objective and subsequently drawing up a policy to reach this objective. When policy is established, it is accordingly important to observe whether the climate policy is on track or needs to be adjusted.

Ecofys has developed CarMon, a monitoring and reporting tool that will help you to determine the progress in terms of CO2-emission reductions and to gain insight in the distance to target (from the objective).

What is CarMon?
CarMon is a web-based tool which provides information on CO2-emission reductions of your local renewable energy projects (wind, biomass, solar, etc.) and energy efficiency projects (within households, industry, etc.).

The tool consists of a web-based database in which relevant projects, CO2 emission data and associated tiers are stored. With this data CarMon™ generates an emission monitoring report. In addition, the module provides information on the progress in terms of CO2-emission reductions, making it easy to gain insight in the distance to target (from the objective). The software is designed to aggregate and report emission information on different levels, thus presenting information by economical sector, authority and/or by project (wind energy, biomass, energy saving options such as insulation, etc.).
