| After a year of operation, a Designated Operational Entity must verify the CO2 emission reductions achieved (set against the monitoring plan). The figures are then certified and the project obtains its first CERs (Certified Emission Reductions). Ecofys helps implement the monitoring so that everything goes according to plan.
Implementation of the monitoring plan
Ecofys will assist the project developer in the implementation of the monitoring plan. In Germany Ecofys staff involves as registered verificators for industrial facilities under the European Emission Trading System. Therefore Ecofys can back you up during the implementation of the monitoring plan with solid expert knowledge on verification issues.
Assistance during the verification and certification process
Ecofys will provide assistance on selection, contraction of a Designated Operational Entity (DOE) during this process. Through its long-term personal contacts and collaboration with DOEs, Ecofys is in the best position to help in the identification and contraction of an appropriate verificator. It will also assist the project developer and the chosen DOE in carrying out the verification process.
