Animated wind farms with Ecofys WindSim3D
Are you curious how your planned wind farm will look like within its surroundings? Ecofys WindSim3D gives you a view of your wind farm, whether it is located offshore or onshore. This tailor-made simulator shows spinning rotors and you can navigate through the environment and alter the perspective of the view.

The WindSim3D contains several predefined camera angles (known as flight paths), but you can also choose to follow your own path.

For instance: a 'flight' can show the view from the coastline towards your offshore wind farm, while moving along the shoreline. You can stop the flight at any time and move  the camera to look in another direction.

You can show WindSim3D to audiences at hearings, trade fairs etc. The audience can make their own flight through the wind farm by controlling the navigation in the viewer.

Comparison of different wind farm layout is very easy. A toggle feature allows you to switch, while watching, from one wind farm layout to another.

There are no restrictions on the distribution of the CD. The viewer can also be made available for download on your website.

Key features:

  • three predefined flights
  • 360º panoramic views
  • time and date adjustable
  • environmental conditions can be changed
  • adjust the distance within which objects are visible
  • position indication
  • adjustments made during flight are immediately visible
  • toggle between wind farm layouts

What can Ecofys do for you?
We can build your wind farm within the viewer, which is installed on your PC and requires no additional software.

We put your wind turbine model, plus the surroundings in the viewer. We normally define three flight paths. We can adjust the user interface to your company style.

The Ecofys WindSim3D has been developed in cooperation with Stentec.
