Renewable electricity
The contribution of renewable energy sources to global electricity supply is increasing rapidly. Electricity from renewable energy sources is an important element in energy and climate policies, as it not only contributes to the mitigation of greenhouse gas emissions, but also plays an important role in increasing the security of energy supply, improving air quality and promoting new technologies and businesses.

The EU Directive on renewable electricity has provided a strong impetus, putting Europe at the forefront of global initiatives to develop renewable energy supplies. This has stimulated individual Member States to formulate national support mechanisms for promoting renewable electricity in their home markets. The new renewable energy targets for 2020 will provide further incentives.

The growing market for renewable electricity generation is creating unprecedented opportunities worldwide. As each country has its own specific set of incentives for renewable electricity, in-depth understanding of national and regional financial opportunities and legal requirements is essential to benefit fully from the current opportunities in renewable energy.

We are leading experts in renewable energy policy and strategy worldwide. Our clients range from policy makers – including the European Commission, national governments, regional authorities and energy agencies – to industry, project developers, financial institutions and NGOs.
